Your Family's Health

Cold Hard Facts

Have you ever wondered how cleaning products can affect your family's health?  If they weren't safe, they wouldn't be able to sell them.  Right?

The truth is many chemicals found in the home have been linked to allergies, birth defects and cancer.   Formaldehyde, phenol, benzene, toluene, and xylene are found in many common household cleaners, cosmetics, beverages, fabrics, and cigarette smoke.  They are all cancer causing and toxic to the immune system.  Yet we use them everyday.

The good news is... We don't have to.  There are safer and more effective alternatives.

My Family's Health

Converting my home to naturally based products has noticeably improved me and my family's health.  All of my life I have suffered from allergies and asthma.  As I got older my asthma became worse and I was prescribed steroid inhalers and allergy medicine to take daily.  In addition I made annual trips to the emergency room due to asthma attacks.  My 9 year old daughter started showing all the signs of becoming asthmatic as well.  She developed a cough and began to wheeze in her sleep.  We tried allergy medicines with her, but there was little change in her condition.  That experience drove me to research other alternatives.  Since we converted our home to these fabulous products we are both symptom free.  Now we only take allergy medicine (not store bought or prescription) as necessary, usually due to whatever is in bloom.

Over the last 20-30 years, as more toxic chemicals have been introduced in greater amounts, the level of toxins stored in our fats cells has risen.  Studies have shown that some toxins store in our bodies for life.  Greater and greater amounts are being stored at younger ages.  Diseases that used to occur later in life are now appearing at younger ages. For example:

National Cancer Institute:  There has been a 28% increase in childhood cancer since the addition of pesticides into household products.

Center for Disease Control:  In one decade, there has been a 42% increase in asthma (29% for men; 82% for women- believed to be due to women’s longer exposure times to household chemicals).

Consumer Product Safety Commission (via www.earthwellness.com): Over 150 chemicals found in the average home have been linked to allergies, birth defects, cancer and psychological abnormalities.
